If it's marked lead only, I'd probably not try it. Although, I shoot TSS through a lead only choke now so...

I kind of think that xx-full is too tight for HTL unless the shot size is small. You could try it and see I guess but I'd just have a bit of fear about what may happen if shot numerous times.

What brand of choke is this and for what gun is it?
You are asking about Hevi-13 shells and what size shot?

There is always the possibility of cosmetic damage to a choke when shooting any tungsten-based shot. Chokes marked "Lead Only" are most times made from softer steel than chokes made for steel or tungsten-based shot.

The exit diameter, XX for example in the Mossberg Accu-Choke means an e.d. of .670, is less important than the material from which the choke is made and whether it has been hardened. I routinely shoot Hevi-13 through .640 and .650 chokes that are made from hardened steel.

All good questions that maybe you can provide answers for me     It is a Yildiz turkey gun from Academy's and it came with a turkey choke along with 5 other flush mounted chokes.    I do know that the turkey choke is ported.    I don't even know the diameter of the turkey choke. Can you tell me the diameter and if I can shoot those Hevi Turkey out of it?  It is a great feeling gun.  I am going to shoot it for the first time this afternoon.

The threads would be near the top of the choke tube. It may also use the Tru-Choke system. Those threads are at the base of the choke, look like Win-Choke threads but are much finer. I've seen a few different thread patterns used on that brand over the years.

Trulock carries the Yildiz chokes.  .581 is the constriction of their turkey choke in both flush mount and extended.
