Turkeys circling a dead cat in Massachusetts.  I'd get a bit creeped out if they were doing that to me.

You'd be creeped out if they circled your dead body?  I think it would make a heck of a funeral ceremony.
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

Reminds me of this video I watched of a hunt where they shot the boss gobbler and then a couple younger gobblers started pecking and kicking at the downed Tom.

Looks like a ritual dance of some sort. Thx for sharing.

My guess turkeys being inquisitive and this a predator and it not moving... dead they are just trying to figure it out safe to be around... then you get to circling, have you ever seen a flock of turkeys let's say crossing a downed log or going through an opening in a fence, it's just the "flock" thing, one is just following the one in front of it, and it created the circle... Just my guess

I think that is either called a "turkey circle" or a "turkey jerk",...or maybe a combination of the two, I can't remember.   ;D

I've seen them do this to a live coon. It's some sort of group predatory response
