How's it looking

So how is it looking for everyone as far as spring season goes?  It's looking pretty grim for me. Turkey numbers have been steadily declining on my stomping grounds for several years now and this year doesn't look any better. Hunted my favorite turkey ridge for coyotes last Sunday and didn't see a scratch. On the plus side, we saw close to 100 deer between 6 of us.  Looking good for next fall but it's dang hard to get excited for this spring!

Things are about normal here a little south of you in MD. It's been a really mild winter and the turkeys have had it good. Hearing some sporadic gobbling but I am chalking it up to the unseasonably warm weather. We have never have been "loaded" with birds around here but it seems that the population has stayed steady or maybe slightly risen. Have been snooping around a bit and have found decent bird that I wanna give a whirl this spring. Something I found while scouting him that may just be the death of him.

From the end of deer season until pulling camera cards 2 weeks ago things are looking better at my place than the pass 2 years..I have a lot more clover plots this year....

Tons of birds here, and lots are 3 years old or older.

Things seem to be upswinging just a bit

Where we hunt here in New Mexico, things look promising for a good spring.  We always have a good carry-over of older-age-class birds, and from the number of jakes running around last spring, I suspect we will have an excellent crop of two-year-olds this year, as well.  I will be surprised if our hunters don't have a great spring season this year.

I don't know where you are in PA but I have seen loads of gobblers while out hunting geese just recently.

Another mild winter here in Iowa. I'm expecting good hunting!
