Hey everyone!

I'm looking to get myself a new pot call, and I have heard Mr. Sneed makes one of the best!
From those of you that own one, which one is the best? I know "best" is a relative term, so maybe " most popular" would be better.
Anyway, just looking for some input.

Thanks!

Happy

This is totally subjective but I own the green glass and his hot hen slate. While the slate is very good I like the green glass or outlaw hen as it is called a bit better. I have always been a big fan of glass and crystal calls though. You won't go wrong with either in my opinion.

Really depends on your style of calling and the pitch/rollover you look for.  The slate will give you the more traditional clean sound while the glass will give you that high pitch rasp.  Both can be played in multiple ways.  For the price he asks for his calls, $40 or so, it may be worth considering both.  He has gotten up in age and his calls will be part of our sport's history.  Good luck my friend.

I like the Hot Hen but like the Raspy Old Hen better but I don't think he makes them anymore.

The surface is going to be up to you in the end. Both play easily and run very well. I'd have a hard time picking between the two. Biggest difference I find is that I can coax more rasp from the outlaw than the slate but the slate runs a touch smoother for me. Not enough to get excited about but just a touch. I'd still take the outlaw if a gun were to my head.

I own both the Hot Hen Slate and the Outlaw Hen. Both sound really good, but I prefer the green glass Outlaw Hen the best. His calls are priced so cheap, do yourself a favor and get both. I promise you won't be sorry! Man is a call maker legend and makes some mighty fine talking turkey calls.

For the price if you can swing it I'd get both.

Green glass (outlaw hen) is probably the one to get if you're only going to get one.
My advice, get an outlaw hen, a hot hen and a lonesome hen...That'll cover pretty much anything you need...
If you can only get two, outlaw hen and lonesome hen would be my two choices. That lonesome hen is just so much different than anything that's common today.
Lonnie will make you two excellent calls for what other call makers will make one call for...

Agreed.

If you get them and are not happy you won't have any problem selling them, Heck i'll buy them if you aren't happy.

I also have both the Hot Hen slate and the Outlaw hen
glass. I prefer the slate myself. But it might just be because it produced the first time I took it hunting.
But like others have said get both if you can.

I picked up a hot hen slate on a trade. It will definitely see some woods time this spring.
