THE BUCKEYE CHALLENGE OHIO NWTF CALLMAKING COMPETITION
The Ohio State Chapter of the NWTF has launched a brand new callmaking contest that will take place this upcoming January 14th at our State Chapter NWTF Banquet. It will be in Waldo, Ohio and held during our banquet weekend. Everyone is welcome to attend the banquet and the callmaking competition. It will be judged by a panel of Champion Callers and award winning callmakers. We have Shane Hendershot, Josh Grossenbacher, Jesse Martin, Dustin Jones and myself Bob Fulcher signed on. NONE of the judges will be competing ! Callmakers can enter 2 calls per category . !00% donation entries are free and 50/50 entries will be $20 each. All calls will be sold after contest to help benefit programs within the Ohio NWTF. Categories will be as follows:
Div 1 Hunting
shortbox
longbox
call sets
slate pot
glass pot
other, pot
scratchbox
trough call
turned trumpet
wingbone
air operated open
locator calls
deer grunt and or bleat
Diaphragm calls
Div 2 decorative class
Decorative open category
We will award medals to the top 5 places in each category (given enough entries) We will payout $100 for 1st place and $50 for 2nd place in each category. Will also payout $100 for Best of Show and Best of Hunting Class. 6 calls will be picked for live auction at the banquet and the rest will be sold on Ebay in a timely manner. If your call is picked for live auction you will be contacted to enable you to bid. The rules and regulations along with links to the entry forms and absentee bid sheets will be posted on our facebook page for the Buckeye Challenge and also on our state website soon. All callmakers are welcome to participate in this inaugural contest and I encourage everyone to build some winners !!
