Sharpening tools

So I've just ordered my first lathe. A rockler excelsior. Got it on sale and it has decent reviews. Now to tools I like carbide but also like hss. Has anyone used the Work Sharp to hone hss chisels? Not the lathe specific model just the regular one. I don't have a bench grinder so I'm trying to figure out if the work sharp will suffice or if a grinder needs to be a planned future purchase. Looking a getting a gouge or two and a parting tool.

You cant't beat a table top belt sander you can pick one up cheap and it'l do every thing you need, in 20 years its the only thing I've ever used.

I agree with the belt sander, I used a 6" X48" from Grizzly I bought 12 years ago, what you can do is buy like a 400 grit and a 600 grit belt, to take the chisel to the right grind and sharpness then polish it with the 600 grit....
