What's everyone's opinion of this wood for a striker and what do you like using it on?

Bowguy

Love that wood for strikers, I use it on everything cept slate cause I don't use tons of slate anymore

Tulipwood makes a very good, versatile striker. For me, it plays well on just about any surface but shines on Crystal and Glass.

I have tulipwood strikers from Bill Lyman and Fred Cox.  They have good rollover in the yelp, and they purr really well too.

If I could only take one natural wood striker in the woods, it would be tulipwood.

Tulipwood....great material for a striker, just about will grab any thing, the bad news is Brazil has put a hold on any more exporting of it. Yep, the stuff is going outrageously high, I just paid nearly 50 bucks for a stick large enough to make four good one piece strikers, so it looks like you're gonna see a lot of 2 piece strikers with tulpiwood as the shaft...
