Lots of states the two I hunt most NJ is about to open for fall bow in under two weeks. NY in a month. Turkey, small game, what have you is all behind it. Though it's hot it's still a cool time of year. In our preparation let's not forget the kids. I'm sure there's one somewhere would jump at the chance to come,  even if it's only the neighbor. We can all find just a day or two to mentor a newbie n the world would be a happier place. Least unless Clinton gets elected!

Yup. Games are about to begin!  Somehow summers seem to keep getting shorter for me. I haven't shot my bow nearly as much as I should and I haven't touched a treestand yet!  Each year family obligations and work seem to come ahead of hunting more and more. Family, good. Work, not so much!!  But I'm sure I will find (or make) time to out there! Lol

Man you fellas make me jealous. We don't have a fall turkey season here in NC where I live. I would love to try it sometime. Anyone near or within driving distance of NC willing to take me on a fall hunting trip? I've heard it can be mighty challenging, would love to experience it one time.

I know PA isn't exactly close to NC, but you're welcome anytime! Would love to meet a lot of the guys in person and do some hunting!

Where do you live in PA? Was looking into going on an out of state turkey hunt in the near future and was considering the great state of Pennsylvania. It'd be a spring hunt though. My fall birds are generally birds of opportunity. Pick them up while squirrel or bow hunting although the county I'm hunting in has finally given us a week to fall hunt and I saw several turkey tracks in the mud the other day on the farm so I may give it a go over there this year if all goes well.

Yep, that is why I was stopping by the old gobbler!

Been shooting for about 6 weeks, just a couple 3 times a week, nothing serious.

My kids are both grown and in college now. My daughter asked to go shoot a couple times in July, and that was it. They are busy, working and classes. They went fly fishing with me a few times this summer, and my son went Salmon fly fishing with me this week OR I went with him to be honest, as that is his love. Either way, I do have fishing and hunting life long pals now. HOPE they both get out bow hunting with me at least once this fall.

I am going to bag my first Turkey this spring if it is the last thing I do!
