It takes about 5 years to get a turkey tag in Alberta so I've decided to keep up this sport by trying for turkey in Montana this spring.  I would like to hunt west of Glacier Nation Park but I have never been there and have no information.  Sure would appreciate any help from hunters who have been in this area.  Thanks in advance.

I guided elk , bear and deer hunters out there for a while.  There are quite a few birds in certain areas, and they dont get hunted too much.   Very few of  the locals even bothered with them.  I was about an hour south of glacier.  I know there were quite a few birds in the Thompson Falls area and the areas surrounding it.  Montana is very vague on the turkey license and requirements and such.  I know some areas around there are draw only and others are over the counter.  I think you may have missed the draw for this season, but i dont know for sure on that.  If you have any more questions, just ask. I have some outfitter friends that I can talk to and get you more info.  My dad and I were supposed to go out this season on a combo bear and turkey hunt, but have a major home addition to build that got in the way of hunting.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you.  My research has suggested I try the Big Fork area south of Kalispell.  Do you have any information about that area?  I'm also trying to find out if there any birds around the Eureka area.

Cheers,
