just a word of advice on the cerekote.  Spend the little extra and get 2 colors.  Do a base color but do a 2nd color (usually black) on the small parts like pins ,buttons, trigger and bolt handle or top of the rib.  You will really appreciate the added small detail to the overall look.

I agree, I got a four color tiger stripe camo on my M2 and I love it.  I recommend Ricco at Black Doves Custom to everyone that is thinking about cerakote.

Is it possible to put cerekote clear over a dipped gun?
Yes it is possible. I have read where several guys on other hunting forums have done this for added protection.

If I had saved all the money I spent on hunting, I'd spend it on hunting.

The problem with doing it over a dip is if the dip starts to flack or peel it will do the same to the cerekote.

Makes sense, but it is possible to do. It may not be advised, and I can understand why if what you say is true about it flaking/peeling.

Agreed it is possible but I would highly recommend not to do it.  Sandblasting it off is not hard to do for most good cerekote shops.

I just dropped my old SBE 1 off to be cerakoted a couple days ago.  Im in SW Ohio and am using toms custom guns in Wilmington ohio.   I am getting a 5 color cerakote in a Multicam pattern.  I am excited to see how it turns out.  It is only costing me slightly more over dipping for a 5 color cerakote.
