Friends,

A while back there was a paint like product that would waterproof the box call surfaces? I have looked for a while but can't find it any more. Anyone know where I can find it  or have you been using a replacement product?

Thanks BG68

I think it was called box call magic. Haven't seen it in several years. Haven't really seen anything that replaces it.

Thanks,

You are both right but, neither make the product today. I have heard that some folks were using JB Weld as a substitute. has anyone here experimented with it?

From what i've read people are using Chalkboard paint made by Rustoleum it's in a spray can, comes in black, spray 2 or 3 thin coats and sand lightly. i would try it first on a cheap old box call to see if i like the product.

Got a striker with JB weld tip. Awesome sound and really grips the surface.

Or, try some Rain Chalk. I use it on several f my calls and it works really well.
Midwest Turkey Calls has it I think, or do a search for it.
You Tube has a video on it also.

Thanks for the replies and info. I'll start playing with some products.
