I helped a buddy get his first gobbler last spring. This past Tuesday evening he told me that he had been hunting a group of birds since opening day and hasn't been able to get it done. I agreed to go with him after work on Wednesday.

We met up around 5:30 pm and headed towards the power lines where he has been seeing them.  He said Saturday he watched one gobbler breed a white hen while two other gobblers circled around the breeding action.

We got close to the power lines and I looked down the 500 yard stretch with my binoculars and seen some turkeys at the other end and one was strutting.  I said, lets cut through the timber and close the distance.  We walk a couple of hundred yards towards them and then I said, lets go to the edge and find out where they are.  He said, I'll wait here.  I got almost to the edge and there they were!  They had been walking towards us while we were walking towards them!  The white hen was leading the flock. Five hens and five jakes came through and then finally the gobbler showed up.  My buddy was too far back in the woods to shoot and he said for me to go ahead and shoot him.  And that's what I did. lol

Picture is not good but at least it's proof that it happened.  ;)
