Some Tom's like to strut on benches. If you can find a strut zone on a bench then by all means I would try to beat him there. It has been my experience that turkeys tend to travel either uphill or laterally across the hill. However they will travel down hill if they want to. Tom's like to strut on the fingers of ridges and anywhere that two or more ridges join is a good spot to check out. Scouting will show you much more than I can tell you.
