i just bought a benelli nova it has a.715 carlson
choke.Is
that a tight choke what size shot should i try .im unfamiliar with carlson chokes.

That would be considered an improved cylinder constriction. I'd get something tighter.
Edit: sorry, thought it was light mod

Depends on what load you are going to shoot, light mod is not going to fair to well. But you could always try it, and see how it does, but you probably not going to be satisfied with 40yd pattern, under 30yds it would be great.
