Beautiful strikers.  What is the difference between the $40 and the $60 strikers?  Anything major soundwise?

There probably isn't much of a sound difference. ...the price is dependent on the figure (grain) of the wood.
The highly figured woods are more expensive to buy.

Yes. The cost difference between Snakewood strikers is directly related to the degree of figure in the piece of wood.

A Snakewood striker would however give you a much different sound than another type of wooden striker (density of materials).
