I just found my dad's old acrylic striker that he swore by.  It got misplaced for years and now it seems like the end of the striker has an uneven couple shallow notches right on the tip.  Is there a correct way to "grind" it down and resurface the tip, to make it rounded?  If so, what's the correct method?

I would just start with 80 grit paper and work your way back to about 220 after you have gotten the shape and contour your looking for

I agree just remember that acrylic is harder to grab the wood so you do not want to polish it too much...I would stop at 120 myself.....this would also get you that rasp at the end too...
