I went from a TruGlo Open Red Dot sight to an EOTech 512. The EOTech has a great field of view and fast acquisition of target. There were concerns of the height of the sight, but it's like looking through a scoped rifle, so no big deal. The sight is a little bulky, but not bad enough to over balance my gun (Winchester 1300). I am very pleased with the sight so far. My only concern now is the the lawsuit that EOTech settled with the US Gov. for 26 million dollars over point of impact shift due to extreme temperature change. EOTech has a return policy for anyone that wants to send them back for a full refund plus $15.00 shipping. My question is, has anyone useing the EOTech sight had any problems or have sent their sights back? From what I have read and watched EOTech's response video from the 2016 Shot Show, I'm thinking I will keep my sight. The manufacturing date on my sight is after they made some upgrades to help with the POI problem.
