After having several surgeries and four epidurals in the past two years on my shoulder and back, I no longer can shoot my twelve gauge and have a hard time shooting my recurves even after dropping a lot of poundage in my draw. I still have trouble with my leg and back but hopefully I can get in some hunting this year. My hunting gear was in need of a update so I spent the last week acquiring a new setup for turkeys. A Mossberg SA20 with a Sumtoy choke. An Avian jake and hen decoy, a new box call from Olin Humphries Custom Calls and a weather proof striker, a ceramic pot call and several mouth calls from Pecker Wrecker Calls and mouth calls from David Halloran Calls. :happy0064: :happy0064: :happy0064:

Where'd you get the Halloran mouth calls and do you know if they have any more?

David is at an outdoor show in Perry Ga this weekend. Several call makers there.

That's a good set up. You'll like that sa20!

I'm sorry to hear about your problems, and I can relate. Years of hard physical labor leaves me wishing I'd gone to college and taken a desk job. vs what I did all those years.

I've carried a 20 ga almost as long as I've been hunting, but I've had to drop down in weight from a 60, to a 50# longbow and I can't shoot anywhere near as much as I used to. I have to be very careful not to over do it, or my shoulder gets so bad I can barely use it for a week or two. I see a 45 pounder in my not too distant future. Both rotator cuffs, back, knees, neck. ::) you're not alone brother, I wish you luck with it.

You've got some great new gear there, I hope you enjoy it. Good luck this spring. :icon_thumright:

I meant to add if you ever want to talk trad archery, or anything else for that matter, send me a message.

Call 'em close, It's the most fun you'll ever have doing the right thing.

Thanks everyone. Bob I shot 65# longbows for 30 years. Swapped over to recurves ten years ago and last year dropped poundage down to 50# Hoyt Buffalo. I love carrying my recurves hunting as I can shoot hogs or turkeys. But there are days now I can not shoot my bow so that is why I have the new set up with the twenty. Also my son snatch up all my old gear when he saw the new stuff. I gladly passed the old twelve gauge along with it.

Thanks but I was asking specifically where he bought them for a reason.

trad bow...
did you get your mouth calls from a dealer, show, or order directly from David? Reason I'm asking is because last year all his mouth calls that I found local and ordered went to white tape and a different latex and I'm hoping to find some of the older stock. Hoping he went back to the original colors and latex but not going to order a bunch to find out he hasn't.

Thanks!
