Just had to share my good fortune....ran across a nice used SBE ,24" barrel with four chokes for $699 and gave her a ride home in my truck.  Its the black model but I am glad to have it and would be a good candidate for a camo dip.
Can't wait for it to warm up for some pattern work.

Congrats. I have two left-handed SBEs and could not be more pleased with their performance. One has a 26 inch barrel and the other a 24 inch barrel. They are both in the old Realtree pattern.

Hunter 22, Any good turkey choke recommendations? I think .650 seems to be a number I hear a lot on diameter.

Congrats on the find! I have an original Super Black Eagle, is a matte blue bbl and wood stock. Bought that one for a number of uses, it's my back-up turkey gun when were traveling "camp gun" JIC. Serves as my goose gun and has knocked out some coyotes too. Built my turkey taker 20 years ago and it's my go to and can't see my self changing, but the Benelli is sweet!

I shoot an Indian Creek .665 in one and a Patternmaster Code Black in the other with a 24 inch barrel. I shoot Nitro 4x5x7s in the 26 inch and plan to shoot Winchester Longbeard #4s in the 24 inch. I have been hunting with the 26 inch gun since around 2000 and killed over 75 gobblers with it during that time.

Congratulations! I've had one of those since 1991. It's a great gun. I have 24", 26" and 28" barrels and all perform very well. You may want to check the bore diameter. Mine range from .618 to .625.

You have a wide range of choke designs that can work very well with your gun.

Again, congratulations.

Thanks,
Clark

Phenominal shotgun!!  Like Clark, I've had my SBE since 1991, and my gun is marked H&K.  Be advised that the early production synthetic stock guns had no cast-off which gave several wing shooter friends fits until they figured it out.  If your constructing a dedicated turkey gun that shouldn't be an issue, but due to the long receiver a 24" barrel SBE swings like a 26" barrel 3" chamber semi-auto and I hunt waterfowl w/ several friends who shoot 24" SBE's.  If you opt to hunt waterfowl w/ the gun, esp. on open water, you can't beat an extended Patternmaster.  The Briley extended knurled tubes from IC-IM are excellent choices w/ the LM a real favorite for pheasant and wild flushing quail.  Pay special attention to the recoil spring/mechanism in the stock and keep it clean and lightly oiled w/ Tri-Flow or equivalent.  A lot of the early guns really shine as turkey guns after having the forcing cone lenghtened
by someone like Rob Roberts.

I picked an SBE2 up for $800 a few years ago and thought I got a great deal...that's a steal. Congrats!

Appreciate all the great info guys...I have a Stoeger 3500 24" so I already have an extended Patternmaster choke for it I will move over to the Benelli for waterfowl.

I think I am going to try a Rob Roberts turkey choke for the SBE.  I've been using a Jellyhead in the Stoeger and getting over 250 in 10" at 40 with Longbeard 3 .5" 6's.
