Duracoat Aerosol

Has anyone ever used Duracoat in an aerosol can? I have a Ruger LCP .380, that I would like to duracoat the polymer frame on. Anyone have experience with it? Wondering how hard it is to coat the gun with and the long term durability. Thanks

Will be interested to hear about this product. I have several guns that are duracoated and wondering if it is possible to touch up with this product or if I need to go down to the metal again before painting.

I cant speak for duracoat, but I can give you first hand experience on painting a gun with Krylon and Rustoleum flat camo paints.  If the surface is prepped right (sanded or hit with some type of abrasive to aid adhesion, and kept free of oils from your skin) then I wouldn't have any reservations about using Rustoleum or Kyrlon.  If your looking to keep it flat and no sheen, use flat spray paint and also use a flat sealer.  Valspar makes a flat clear aeresol sealer that you can pick up at lowes.

I used the dura coat aerosol to refinish a Carbon Hoyt bow a couple years ago. Turned out awesome. Durability was ok I guess. Being used hunting it held up comparable to any other painted finish I'd say.

 As for as durability....I've watched the stock on my Browning BPS become sticky and slowly desinagrate..if we are talking about the same duracoat I wouldn't touch it.

Your Browning stock is DuraTouch. They are talking about DuraCoat. Is a hard dry firearm finish. You mix paint and hardener, then spray it on and let it dry. Its pretty tough stuff. I've applied it on several guns with great results. Never tried the aerosol version though.
