i recently put a ff3 on my sbe2 and have tinkering alot and shooting it quite a bit lately.i had a couple boxes of 3 1/2 inch longbeards 6 shot that were shooting amazing,i got down to were i just had about 3 shells left,i found some at a local gunstore and got 3 more boxes to have so i thought i would shoot a few today.they were shooting way low and to the right and the pattern didnt look as good.at first i thought the fast fire hadnt held zero as this is the first time ive ever fooled with one of those, now i have an anschutz 22 rifle thats a tackdriver i shoot alot of groups with match shells and know how lot#'s play a huge role in how it shoots but i never dreamed it was like that with shotgun ammo,i got one of my good ones that i only had a few of and fired one of them at 40.there was that perfect centered pattern i had been shooting.i shot another of the newer ones and it was back way low and off center.i wish i had known how these were shooting compared to others and bought all i could of them,i have no way of getting anymore and after today i only have one left.i think i will order a box somewhere and see how a completly different lot# shoots compared to the newer ones i got that dont shoot as good.i couldnt believe what a difference there was in the two,and since i have the ff3 and can put it on a bench and actually see how accurate it is shooting compared to just the bead im sure i will doing like i have always done with my 22's and when i find a good lot# thats shooting lights out ill try to buy as many as i can.all yall when you go to a new box of shells better shoot one to make sure your poa?poi is still the same even though there the same kind of shells.

That's why I handload - every shell exactly the same.

It has been said by the knowledgable fellas on here many times .  If you  find  a good load  stock up.  Whether factory or reloading components .   With the tighter pattern from a shotgun and loads that shoot that tight it would be even more important to pay attention to details as you have.  Did you try at 25  yards  ?  Probably  would have been missed turkey.  Plenty still  to  learn  about the  longbeard  loads. Thanks for posting  that info  up.

yeah i shot at 15,20,30,40, i got a good deal on some 3 1/2 inch various turkey loads from a guy who was going to have neck surgery and could'nt shoot them  any more,so i have been shooting alot and patterning the 2 turkey guns i have.(i got 10 boxes,6 boxes  was long beards with all the different shot sizes and 4 boxes of 6 shot thugs, for $40.00,it was such a good deal i didnt believe him until he showed up with them, said he just wanted to get rid of them.)plus i had alot stocked up myself,   i also found 2 different lot numbers that both shot low and to the right, and also have 2 different numbers that shoot dead on with each other only one has a little better looking pattern with more in the 10 at 40. im going to hunt with the ones that shoot the best and when i run out i guess i will rezero my ff3 for the others unless i can find some more of the ones thats shooting so good.
