MAKE A WISH CALLS

I will be posting several calls over the next few weeks that will be auctioned off and 100% of the proceeds will be going to Make A Wish Mississippi to support Coleman Love's wish. The calls will either be auctioned off on here or Ebay, or possibly other forums. Just waiting on approval before making a decision. We have received a tremendous response and some great callmakers have stepped up to help out.

    Here is his story. He is a terrific kid.

Wallace Coleman Love has been chosen as a wish child for 2015. Coleman was born with a very serious and life threatening heart defect known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome, commonly called HLHS. Life is not compatible without immediate reconstructive heart surgery, followed by additional surgeries. Coleman had open heart surgery in Philadelphia PA at five days old, five months old and again at 30 months old. He also had five angioplasty heart procedures performed during the first three years of his life, with one of them resulting in a stroke that was caused by a clotting disorder that was unknown at the time. He has almost fully recovered from the stroke and is full of energy most of the time.  His prognosis from HLHS is still a great deal of uncertainty at this time.

Coleman was initially categorized as being developmentally delayed because of everything he had dealt with since birth, but he was later diagnosed with Autism.  He is now ten years old and is still non-verbal. He is full of energy and life itself, as he loves to play outside and especially loves swimming. He doesn't like crowds or loud noises, and his patience is often very short. He also likes to ride 4-wheelers, but he spends most of his time on his iPad. Instead of fighting the crowds at Disney World or some other tourist attraction, or trying to fly commercial airline with oxygen, Coleman has elected to make his wish last for years to come. His wish is to have a commercial type playground set right in his own yard. He loves to slide and swing, and these activities also serve as sensory therapy.

This call is made from California Redwood from the stable of famed thoroughbred racehorse "Seabiscuit ". The stable is located on the Ridgewood Ranch near WILLITS,  CA where Seabiscuit lived out his life . He is buried on the ranch in a secret location. I blended the Redwood with mahogany and maple. The striker is made of Redwood , maple and the bottom is Ipe from South America that was salvaged from the Coney Island Pier in New York when it was rebuilt. The Ipe wood holds chalk better than anything else and has good friction.

The call is made from Exhibition grade Koa and has a Bloodwood sound board. It is pure turkey!

The scratch box is made out of walnut with an apple soundboard with 2 strikers, one walnut and the other made of beech. The tongue call is stippled sugar maple sides, Curly maple bottom and Cherry for the soundboard.
