On most firearms this is what I do before bothering with a trigger job. For a shotgun you don't need a 2lb trigger pull, you aren't trying to thread a needle with your bullet at 60 yards.
I have some .22 LR with 1.5# pulls that I love to shoot at 50 yards and hit dimes all day long, I have some pistols with 2.5# pulls, but I cant see a reason for a full out trigger job unless the trigger was atrocious. Also, you can probably do your own trigger job. It usually amounts to some spring work, and polishing contact surfaces.
Unless you are getting into sear/hammer cuts, then you need to KNOW what you are doing or have a qualified, reputable smith do it. I do most all my own stuff, but I don't do cuts. That's a good way to make the gun go full auto.
