do you not bother picking them?  Picked about 30 last weekend.  Went back to the same spot to hunt turkeys this morning and found more, but they were starting to change.  Not complete mush and yesterday they probably were still fresh looking, but I wasn't there to pick them.  Do you not bother or are they still ok when they start going the other way?

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

When you start getting a bad case of the sh#tz, they're too old.   ;)

Smell them if they smell a little rotten forget them. Some will be fresh but dry up in the sun. These r still good

Smell like normal morels to me!  Put them out in the sun to dry out.  Next, will stuff with cream cheese and crab meat and fry in oil. :))
