Well, I guess i'm done for the season. Had a pretty good year, finally got to knock one down in NC. He had good spurs, but the weight was nowhere near the KY birds.
I scouted a lot more this year and was able to know where more birds were and how they were moving before the season started. I did meet a personal goal of legitimately working a tom on every hunt. Some didn't come all the way to the gun, one was shot before he got to me, and one was run off by a ill arse hawk after he'd closed to 60 yds and was coming, but I feel like I had a better year this year even though I didn't hunt as much.
There wasn't one time during the whole season that I wasn't listening to a bird gobble...it was never quiet and the 3 that I did kill, I got to hear them gobble 200 times each...and I came home safe each time...for that i'm so thankful !!
