Nothing spectacular to report here. My season ran April 22-28. Because of my work schedule and lack of vacation and family obligations I only got two days to hunt. The two days I did hunt I worked my tail off with no luck. The birds around here all seem to be henned up straight out of the roost and have zero interest in decoys or calls. I even had a trio of jakes walk past me at about 70 yards and not so much as make a peep when I was calling. it was one of the weirdest seasons I have had in a while.
We do have left over tags for later in the spring and I think I am going to give it another go in a few weeks. I am thinking by then a lot of hens will be on the nest and there should be some lonely gobblers wandering around.
