I have decided to put a FF3 on my Nova using the Burris 336 mount.  I am having a local gunsmith do the drilling and tapping but he has never done this work on a Nova before.  I was looking for some advice on where on the receiver should the mount be placed.  I remember reading, on this site, that d/t this receiver can be tricky due to how it's made.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ray

You have to use a saddle mount on the nova.  The receiver is not steel, gunsmith said no, no to drilling & tapping.

Thanks for the reply.   I have seen them drilled and tapped.  Supposidly there's a steel skeleton within the plastic receiver. anyone ever have one done?

I was thinking of setting up a nova 20ga & my gunsmith said there was enough "meat" there to drill & tap. There is a metal skeleton under the plastic. I trust him!

Thanks cutt down,  that's what I read somewhere.   I'm hoping someone on this forum has had it done to a Nova before.

Maybe give these guys a call Rob Roberts Custom Gun Works, since they do a lot with Benelli Guns, they should be able to set you on the correct path.  Phone # 1-870-251-9955  Hrs. 9-5 M-F CST

Since different gun smiths have their own thoughts, Rob Roberts would be the man with the correct answers.

Thanks catclr.  I will give them a call.
