My son was able to get it done with his first turkey on Saturday morning.  We got to hear birds most of the morning we was out.  We had 3 toms,  4 jakes and 3 hens out in the field.  3 of the hens were committed to our decoys and the 3 toms were about 80yrds behind them and slowly working our way.  My boy didn't want to wait for the toms, which may or may not have got close enough to shoot.  At 18 yrds my boy pulled the trigger on this jake.  He weighed 18lbs, 4.5" beard and 3/8" spurs.  Lets just say he was pumped.
