Hi Guys ..I just wanted to get yalls thoughts on this..
I have owned a couple of the avian hens and while I think they are good both my huntin buddy and I think the wings are too white for North Georgia.
I have a DSD that is not so bright.  what do you guys think?
And whats a good way to tone em down a tick?

Gobspur

I just got my first avians and I thought they were a little light too.  More disappointed in the weight though.  Frickin things are heavy.  I cover a lot of ground so I'll probably stick to my old foams unless I'm hunting the farm (which is not much).

Got to the craft story and pick up a bottle of folkart acrylic paint (tan) and a brush....

Did this to mine and it really tones down the white....I'll find a pic and post it later.

a pic would be great thanks man..
yep they are heavy... but I have been using a DSD Jake and submissive hen some too.
the hen I can put in my vest no problem but the Jake is a beats to haul around..
its the nature of it I guess..real or light weight..trade off

Used brown shoe polish on mine. Put it , wipe it off with a paper towel till you are satisfied with the color

Here it is.....the color I used was butter pecan by folkart
I also added a little metallic to the wing bar and re painted the head.

But.....the avion x doesn't compare to the Deception Outdoors hen...imo
Or the DSD for that matter...

looks good thanks man..i looked at the deception hens..your right their pretty nice.

Weight and better coloring is why I chose DSD's over the Avians.

I just weighed my AvianX feeder and breeder hens. Both weigh in at 2 pounds 7 oz. Shoot! The lunch I pack in weighs more than that!
