I mostly run and gun, locate turkeys, work close, and then call and try to get them engaged.  While I frequently pause for a period of time, I don't stick to a spot until I think I've got them engaged.  At that point I believe they're  coming and then I'm worried I don't have time and I don't want to get busted.  More often than not the decoys stay in my vest.

All of the tools, some of the skills!

You use a shotgun?  And camo?

You should really try just wearing a loin cloth and calling them in using nothing but your voice.  Then when they're close enough you just pounce on 'em.  Man, that's real turkey hunting.   ::)
I love golf.  It keeps a lot of people out of the turkey woods.

I use whatever strikes me as appropriate for each particular set up. I think I've used a blind twice and only with my kids. I like stay mobile.

Never use a blind or decoys, take three or four a year in Alabama.Mouth call ,chair and a gun.!!

Killed my 1st bird at age 14 in 1987.  I've never used a blind or decoy.  Even in places like Kansas I don't use decoys and have always had great luck without them.  I have also never considered using a blind

Cut N Run

I never hunted from a popup blind.  I use pole blinds when necessary.  I prefer using whatever downed tree is nearby.  A couple of the places I hunt I already have dragged a few downed trees together to make some cover.

I use decoys about 25-30% of the time.

I use a chair 100% of the time because of a bad back.  I already have 3 vertebrae fused together and don't want anymore.

I always have fun no matter how I hunt.

Luck counts, good or bad.

I would like to start by saying I think all legal methods of hunting turkeys are ok if they float your boat. I personally call my birds and don't use a blind and no decoys. I find hunting this way leaves me awed and amazed and really satisfied. But again I don't look down on other methods. I look down on just killing: I kill too but it's the end of a hunt, not the reason I hunt turkeys. I leave you all with some authors that can explain it much better than I, Gene Nunnery, John Mcdaniel and Ken Morgan.   :OGturkeyhead:
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

I normally hunt with decoys. I hunt a few times a season out of a pop up blind. I kill birds every season those ways. I also have hunted, and killed birds without decoys or blinds. My favorite way to hunt is running and gunning, but I mainly down in Dixie, and that doesn't work so well where I hunt. That's why I use decoys, and call and wait a lot.
