I have a mossberg 835 and plan to shoot 3 1/2 heavy shot straight #7. What would be the best choke for this combo. Thanks

The 835 shoots really well with chokes in the .670 to .680 range.  Some that do well are .670 Pure Gold, .675 Indian Creek, .670 SSX, .675 Sumtoy, .676 Stardot and if you want a little more open pattern the .695 extra full that comes with the gun does well.

The SSX is .670, and the .695 ulti-full (non-ported) choke that came with my 835 throws GREAT patterns w/ longbeards 5's and 6's but especially 5 shot!!! I'm not gonna quote numbers bc some folks prolly wouldn't believe me.

Are you gonna shoot nitros or the hevi shot brand?

jelly head .690 they shoot great. that's what my daddy shoots with with 835 and mag blends

With that gun and that shell, it will be tough to shoot a bad pattern. PureGold/Indian Creek/SumToy/StarDot/JellHead/Any Hevi Rated Choke and your good to go.

Thanks fellas. Since I've joined this sight over a year ago I have learned so much more about turkey hunting when it comes to shooting. Thanks everyone

Seems everyone wants a super tight choke but also remember that a turkey can sneak up on you. I try and get a good even pattern from 20 yards to about 40 or 45 yards. If you are shooting a scope it really doesn't matter.
