Hey guys. I've searched here and everywhere else trying to find some info and I've come up empty. I just ordered a Burris FF3 w/picatinny mount for my Winchester SXP Turkey in 20 gauge.  Winchester shows a base on their website that looks to be about 6" long. Other than that, I haven't been able to find anything. The gun is drilled and tapped already, so I'm hoping to find a shorter base that will work with the picatinny mount.  Any suggestions?  It would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how far apart your screws are but is it possible to just shorten the 6" base by taking a little off of each end?

I ordered the gun and it hasn't come in yet, so I'm not sure how far apart they are. I think it has two holes in the front and two holes in the rear, so I could probably cut it and just use the rear mounts. I was hoping someone on here might have found something shorter that would work, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I just went through the same thing for my Supernova.  I bought a 6" rail and cut it down.  I too wondered if I could go down to 2 screws, but settled on leaving it a little longer and went with 3 screws.

I'd say you should be fine with two screws based on all the folks who use the 336 base, which utilizes two screws. I'd put a drop of Loctite on each screw and forget about it.

Thanks guys.  I got my rail in today and plan on cutting it and using two screws.  I think that should be plenty as small and light as the FF3 is.
