The striker is a two piece with a birch shaft. They are a bit longer than normal strikers and the tip is cut flat, not rounded.  You have to hold it with little finger pressure, it almost flops between your two fingers. That's the only way you can get the bubbly sounding purrs, to much finger pressure, a purr call will sound like a woodpecker on the side of an Alabama pine tree.

Got my cluck and purr pot today. It got here real fast.
This call gives me the best cluck and purrs that I have ever made on a pot call and pretty simple to run too.
