What choke/shell combination have you found performs the best?  my stoeger 3500 is just too dang long and heavy to carry again next spring, so I'm going to take my 1300 (24" barrel) instead.  it's a full 3lbs lighter than the Stoeger 3500.

I've tried the factory XFull choke with Mag Blends, Long Beards and some federals, but at 30yds, the pattern is questionable at best.  I shoot a Primos Tightwad through the stoeger with the magblends and get great results, so I'm thinking of picking up one for my 1300 as well.

Any other rec's on inexpensive combinations to try?

Spring Creek Calls

Hevi 7's

Longbeard 6's

I played around with a lot of chokes for my 1300 before settling on an Indian Creek BDS .660. I have a 26" barrel and shoot Hevi Shot #7's or Winchester Longbeard 6's. Here's a pattern picture of each. I also have a 22" barrel, but I lose quite a bit in density, especially in the 40 and beyond range.

Good choice - the 1300 is nice to carry and point.

Here is a link to what I found works in my 1300:

A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

Lots of good chokes out there but the SSX is sure one that I'd recommend to meet your needs.

IC with heavy 6's or 7's should easily put you in 250 and up range. I prefer the 6's but both work well.

The 1300 is my favorite turkey killer. Good luck with it.
