Hens Renesting again

I understand Hens do not need to bred again for laying a second clutch.. Upon having a nest destroyed, what is the time frame for seeking out a new nesting spot and laying eggs and what triggers the hen to lay more eggs..

In my studies if re-nests, she re-nests immediately. 

I don't know what triggers it.
