Over the last couple years I've invested in custom pot calls.  Now I'd like to get some custom strikers. If you could only have half a dozen strikers what would they be?  Wood types and/ or maker.
Thanks

West Augusta - dogwood or locust
Harold Fowler - Crab apple
Matt McClain - black locust
Bill Lyman - dymondwood
Purple heart is a pretty consistent striker wood as well

Thanks gwa.  Guess everyone else agrees with you too.

For my strikers I prefer - Hickory, Bloodwood, Purpleheart, Osage, Persimmon, and Padauk.  I've also heard great things about dymondwood.

Some guys who consistently get high praise for their strikers:  Harold Fowler, Steve Torman (West Augusta), and Bill Lyman (callmakerman)

I've got all mine from Neal Herman, yellowheart, purpleheart, and dymondwood. Those are the ones I use most.

Neal makes good ones too. Try one of his in persimmon....

Roost Wrecker

I like using dymondwood, purpleheart, katalox, padauk, zebrawood and bocote. Not necessarily in that order. Also the fiber striker that Michael yingling makes isa great striker as well.
