They are water resistant, not water proof. Keep them treated and they do well. I finally bought a pair after going through Danners and Rockys. Spent about $600 over several years, finally broke down and had the Russell's made, little over $400 then. These will last me the rest of my years (58 now) and never have to buy another pair. You will save over time.
