Really like how you got your wing feathers to set, do you have tips on how you did that? What's the process?

Best advice for getting your wings to be symmetrical is to spend a bunch of time on that portion, getting them positioned just so, before you leave them to dry. I pin them out on large heavy cardboard and lay them on the floor side by side (for a good view) and adjust, re-pin etc. a few times over the course of a couple or three days till they satisfy me. This after defleshing, washing and rinsing several times, bondo filled later on... that info you can find online with a little searching on taxi sites. The mount is fairly simple, 1x2s backing wings and piece of plywood for fan. Getting the plaque attached on the front can be handled several different ways and is usually the most difficult part of the project for me to get just right. It also helps to have a good set of wings and fans to work with but I don't hesitate to install a few donor feathers if needed.

I was going to ask about the symmetry...  Thank you for explaining.

Did you use any wires in the wings?  If not, would there be a disadvantage to using wires?
Did I do that?

Have not used wires in the wings, not sure there is any advantage. You just need to do a good job defleshing from the underside around the bones, drill holes in the ends of those and blow out marrow with air compressor etc. Picture below shows the fans and wings after defleshing and washing, waiting to be dried with a blow dryer. I let the wings dry a month (as suggested where I read and learned from) because the leaders/ligaments in the hand part of the wing will still retract a little if not completely dried. Use bondo dent filler in the void around the bones on the wings and the base of the tail fan. Makes mounting them a breeze, good base for wood screws to attach. Two small patches of back feathers are from immediately in front of the preen gland. Reattached after drying, seems easiest way to handle for me.
