Finally! After hunting 25 out of the 28 day season I finally knocked one down yesterday morning.
18 1/4 pounds, one inch spurs, and a 10 1/2 inch beard= 59.25 plus he was another color phase bird! Crazy but the last thre days of season were the best I've had. Just prior to shooting this guy I had called three big Toms across a county road and had them all strutting at 70 yards when a nasty hen came in and led them all away! This guy was about 20 minutes late to the party and it cost him dearly!
