What is the wood you guys prefer for pot calls? I like the crisper sounding calls and have used walnut in the past.Just wondering what wood everyone liked and why.

Why i'm asking what surface combos do you guys like.I prefer slate as a playing surface, but what about soundboards? Thanks.

I seldom make just solid wood pots anymore.  I do a lot of laminates.  Combos of 2 or 3 or 4 different woods.
Walnut, maple, and Paduk is one of my favorite combinations.  Purpleheart, YellowHeart, and Maple is another.

sometimes I get a little creative

I am always amazed by what Mastevt can do !!!!

I really like a cherry soundboard with a crystal or glass playing surface. I even like Alum over glass!
