This morning we was running a little bit late and we was in a hurry to get set up, well about 6:25 there was a couple flew down behind us. I could see a tom coming so I whispered to dad there was one comen and he got twisted around and when the bird got in a opening he took the shot, well the bird just kindly jumped and took off walking away he wasnt scared at all,dad was trying to get another shell out so he could reload bit he wasnt able to get another good chance. When they went over the hill I crawled up to dad and I saw his hull and noticed that he had accidently put a 2 3/4 7/8 ounce of 7.5, he had put the wrong shell in when we was rushing in this morning. Well he double checked to make sure he had the right shell in this time and we was setting there talking about what had happened and dad said dont move and I looked out at the decoys and here came all 3 of the toms, and when they made it to the decoys he put he second bird of the year down. He had a 10 3/4 in beard weighted 20 pound and had 1 1/16 in sputs. It made the 5th bird we have killed this year using my 20ga single shot and fed heavyweight #7s and I was able to video the whole hunt this morning. It has been a great year for my family this year.
