Hey guys I'm new to the forum.  Seems like a great site!!  Lots of good info.  Anyway, I started turkey hunting 3 years ago, and only have 2 under my belt.  Growing up, we always deer hunted in the fall and fished in the spring... so I was never really introduced to learning how to turkey hunting.  So I'm still learning on my own.
I'm a diehard bowhunter (for deer), and some of that passion is leaking over in the turkey world!

Great site, and here are a few PICS!! :jesus-cross:

Welcome Steve.  Nice Pics.  I hale from Eastern NC and started turkey hunting in the late 2000's when the population of birds finally reached a huntable number.  I killed my first bird in 2009 and have been hooked ever since.  I've killed a number of Eastern's, been to Florida for my Osceola, made a trip to Kansas last year for two Rio's and heading to South Dakota in May for a shot at a Merriam.  This a GREAT site for learning about this sport.  There is a tremendous amount of knowledge being passed concerning guns, patterning, turkey tactics and more so sit back and take it in.  Good Luck with our season starting next Saturday.  From the looks of your Pics, it's about time for someone to hit the woods during Youth season.

Welcome to this forum! I'm rather new here myself but lots of good info here. I grew up hunting deer and small game in the fall and fishing in the spring. My dad didn't hunt turkeys so as soon as i turned 16 i headed to the turkey woods and made several messes! That was 25 years ago. Only turkey info was a field and stream article that said yelp 3 times and sit patient. I learned enough from my constant mistakes that i can fill my tags now and really enjoy the hunt with my children. Even pulled my dad off the stream to give him some turkey fever. This site would have been a great tool for me back then. Don't hesitate to ask questions. Very knowledgable hunters here can help you figure out what mite would take you years to figure out on your own and not stink up as many hunts
