Do you all like to set up with the sun behind you or off to the side??
There is a tract of land that I hunt with timber and a creek at the bottom of a grain field..the birds like to come off the roost and mill around for a little bit..then they work they way East...up the hill to the top where the "strut zone" is in the sun...to the north is another row of scrub brush that goes west to east up the hill to the top and then it shoots to the south...creating a finger of cover into the grain field...
The issue is...there is no real good spot to set up on the top of the hill due to the terrain...if I set up in the scrub brush to the north...or at the top of the hill, you can't see the birds till they are on top of you...like 10 yards.....
I have killed birds from both positions but just curious as to what you would do...set up in the scrub or on top of the hill with the sun in their eyes as they crest the ridge??
It is kinda fun...cuz once their on their way, and crest the top of the hill...it's a quick site and shoot thing...
