Rem 870/ Kicks .660  28" bbl  Win LB 3"5's

163 in a 10 @ 40

196 in a 12 @ 40

*Excellent 12" pattern @ 30.

*60+ shot improvement over the HV 3" 5's.

*2nd 870 I have shot where the LB 5's patterned higher than the LB 6's (40yd pattern was super tight with 6's but would require sight change to shoot them as well.)

*Gun will be in the woods with me in the morning.

Sounds like a very good hunting pattern!!Not giving up pattern width close but maintaining good numbers at 40

Your right, it has a little more wiggle room up close compared to my Rem 870/ Kicks .655/ 21" bbl with the LB 6's. This pattern with 5's should do well in the woods.

As much as I didnt like how the 6's performed for me I may have to give the 5's a try.Although with all my other lead stash that I have that I know will perform(not as good numbers wise, but more than adequate)not sure if I feel like "starting over".Decisions, decisions!!

be not afraid! shooting is fun...worst case scenario you learn something...what you gonna do with a pile of money better than buying ammo?    :you_rock:   Btw to add my $.02...The LB #5's shot 197 in 10" out my set up the other day...with that kind of number why shoot 6's I'll take the knockdown power
shoot first, measure spurs later
Don't miss "The Break" our new outdoor TV show featuring the www.HuntersLink.com team on the Hunt Channel Ch.266 on Dish Network.  All episodes can be seen on Hunt Channel on ROKU and streaming devices and on the website as well...Enjoy and thanks for the support!

197 is business..I was shooting with a dirty barrel and wasn't able to clean between shots so I'm hoping to turn a little better patterns later. Cleaning in between shots made a big difference in how my 21" bbl  performed with the LB 6's. 160's is highest number I have turned with 5's in a 10". 5's will lay the smack down.. Can't wait to see what this gun will do in the woods.

I liked the 5's better than the 6's out of my 21" 870.

What choke you shooting?

That's something I'm gonna have to try..patterned and sighted my 21"bbl in a hurry to hunt. Laid down a 214 with the 3" 6's and sighted with a few shots..and hit the woods. Do some more experimenting after season. I have an Indian creek .665 that I want to try as well.

Ive got a ventilator that is .655,stardot that is .675ish(cant remember for sure),and the Rem XF that is .687,and a .665 undertaker.Ive only tried the ventilator with the 6s.

Any suggestions for the 5's if I try em?

Ive been hearing great results from .655-.675.  Amazing shell when the constriction doesnt seem to matter whole lot.  You can kinda make it shoot the way you want to and still maintain great patterns no matter what you decide to use.  This is unheard of with respect to turkey gun/ choke/ shell combos. Seeing guys take guns that wont break 100 @ 40 and turn them into turkey machines by doing nothing more than putting a Win LB in the pipe.
