Has anyone ever tried Kent 20 gauge 3 inch #5 or #6. I almost bought a box yesterday at Bass pro for 6.99. My son loves it in his 12 gauge 870 but I have never shot it in a 20 gauge. I have seen my son kill turkeys with it at almost 40 but I think the main reason he likes it is because since he isn't spending daddy's money any more he has become a cheapskate. The only reason I was wondering is because the box on the 20 gauge says 1300 FPS.

The 3"-1 1/4-#6 Kent shell in 20 gauge looks good at 30 yards in my gun but not at 40. That shell was shot in a 562-5 Sumtoy choke at 27 yds measured. It could make a 35 yard kill possibly. That is up to you . The shot are hardened lead but not copper-plated and I doubt if they are buffered.

I am not impressed w/Kent 20ga turkey loads at all. I tried them through 2 guns w/5 choke combinations & they shot like crap. The cheap Remington® Nitro-Turkey™ 20ga 3" Mag 1185fps 1¼oz #5Pb (#NT20M5) is an AWESOME LOAD in comparison. Winchester® Double-X™, and Federal® Mag-Shok® Filtecontrol, both copper plated Pb & buffered are excellent also.

I bought a couple of boxes (6's) a couple of years ago, tried then through 5 different chokes, did not do anything with any choke I tried.
