FFIII on M2 mount location

Hi All,
Getting back into turkey hunting after many years and am putting together my sight/gun combo. I've decided to go with the Benelli M2 Compact with a FFIII mounted on a 336 base. I realize I need to get the receiver drilled and tapped: just wondering if there is a preferred place to mount the FFIII...do you want it as far back on the receiver as possible? Any constructive info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
I just went through the same thing with my Benelli Nova....same sight and base as you. I temporarily installed mine with rubber bands and moved it around trying to find that perfect spot. I ended up mounting mine about six inches from my eye. I could not really find an area that was bad. Lol. Just my opinion .

Thanks for the info backwater, I'll try the rubber band method too.
