I went to one local NWTF event, gathering..or whatever it was many yrs. ago with a friend who was a member. That was enough for me.

Due mostly to some great people with a local chapter and the effort they put into JAKES events, I remain a NWTF member after 27 years. I volunteer my time each year to help out at these events and if my membership helps them out at all, then it's worth it. These kids have a great day, all for fun and all for free.
