This morning I woke up an hour later then usual, all of a sudden I felt the anxiety of trying to catch up. As I sat in my recliner watching Fox news, I thought " Wonder if God likes this time change stuff?" I looked at some scriptures, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34" I found this one in Matthews, and I thought...when this was written, they did not have the time change thing going on did they? I mean ... the kids back then didn't have to stand in the dark waiting on the school bus did they? Galations 6: 9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." I didn't see anything about losing an hour or gaining and hour of daylight mentioned, so I figured it really did not matter to God whether or not we get up at 6 a.m. the old time of 6 a.m. the new time, just as long as we get up and go to work for Him without letting the time change slow us down in any way. And then I remembered how Jesus explained to his followers his second coming...Matthews 26: "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." I saw nothing about whether or not we will be watching the clock, figuring out if the Lord will return on Day light Savings time or not, thinking about whether or not we would get up in time to see Him in the air or sleep in and miss out on the whole thing.
"For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Nothing here either.... no mention of Daylight Savings Time...just about us wasting what time we have....going about our daily routines without the fear of it all coming to an end.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Wonder if these folks griped about getting up an hour earlier, or if the grinding mill foreman docked them for showing up an hour late for work? Or if the goodman who was in charge of watching over the house, in his haste to get to bed so he could get up earlier the next morning forgot to set the burglar alarm?
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. So, I concluded ... GOD JUST DOESN'T CARE ABOUT OUR CLOCKS BEING AN HOUR FASTER OR AN HOUR BEHIND, GOD DOESN'T CARE ABOUT STANDING IN THE DARK EARLY MORNING HOURS WAITING ON A BUS OR GETTING IN THE FIELD AN HOUR EARLIER SO WE COULD GET ANOTHER 100 ACRES PLOWED BEFORE DARK. WHAT GOD REALLY CARES ABOUT IS OUR ATTENTION TO HIS PLAN FOR MANKIND. HOPE EVERYONE WHO READS THIS DEVOTIONAL TODAY HAD A GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP .....LOL....GOD BLESS YA...PAPPY
