Hey guys had a question. I was at the range yesterday and shot a little, i came to the conclusion that my gun shoots a little high (4 inches) I shoot a Rem Super Mag with a 4x Simmons Pro Diamond. I adjust my scope as the sticky here says to. My question is if i take my target and set it at say 15 yards (in my yard) and put the crosshair on my original aiming point and move it to my  dense pattern will this work?? I will then go shoot the gun range at 40 to make sure. The range got very crowded and i left. I just wanted to save some time for when i go to the range again. THANKS!!

Never tried it like that, you are talking about taking a previously shot pattern and adjusting the scope to that at 15 yards?  I don't know if it will work or not, never thought about it.  If you decide to do it as you hold your point of aim on the target, I would get someone else to do the adjusting of the scope.  Probably will be more accurate.  If you do it be sure to keep us posted, as to if it worked or not, it would be interesting.  Maybe someone else can give you a more definite answer,  Good Luck.

Thanks i was going to hold the aim while my buddy adjusted the scope. I think it may work due to the fact that this is the processs for initial sighting in of an optic. I have sighted this way at 15 yds and when i took it to 40 it was on. Im just pretty much doing it in reverse.

If you just need to go down 4" you should be able to figure it out by using your adjustments on the scope. Most are 1/4" a click at 100 yards so double the clicks to get the same movement at 50 yards.
