I started this April with high expectations and for my spring turkey season. Two out of state trips, three tags in some good counties in my home state, and taking two weeks off work I felt like my chances for stacking up some long beards was pretty good. My season started out great tagged a turkey out of state on the first day but sadly the trip was cut short due to my hunting buddy's pregnant wife having to go to the ER. I am happy to say she is doing fine. After hunting for he next three days at home with limited success I got a bad call that my 2 year old was running a fever of 105 and we rushed him to the ER.  We found out that he has a really bad virus that he will fight off with time and a lot of IV fluid.  When we received the news that he would be OK I went into a half joking pitty party about how kids hate turkey season being that he and my wife where in the hospital 2 years ago this week when he was born.  I have quit my complaining after talking with other parents here at children's hospital in St. Louis about how they have basically lived at this hospital for Months or even years. I realized how lucky I am to be able to go out and enjoy the spring woods, have a happy healthy family, and have a job with insurance to pay for these hospital "vacations". Just wanted to share.
